These fossil plants are from an undescribed site where at least 20 genera have been identified. Hundreds of specimens are available from this upper Pennsylvanian site from the approximate level of the Waynesburg Coal, Marion County, West Virginia, USA. The site was an active strip mine that is now reclaimed. All specimens were collected during the summer of 2010. Photographs of the excavations are provided with the collection.

Specimens range from 1 inch to over 24 inches. Most specimens have several specimens per plate.

The collection is being sold by the flat. Some flats (16 x 10.5 x 3 inches) may contain 1 large plate, some have 2 layers and some have 3 layers of fossils. None have been hi-graded. You will want to obtain enough flats to insure a good sample of the locality. We recommend a minimum of 10 flats. Plates over 5 pounds are being sold per pound.
